The Trust is delighted to announce that the following Foundation Directors have been re-appointed, by the Bishop of Lancaster, to a further four year office:  Barry Leyland (Chair of the Board), Paul Desborough (Vice Chair), Liz Boniface, Camilla Hardy, Mike Humphries, Liz Kelly and Sue Ridyard.  These directors bring a wealth of experience and continued stability to the Board's work.

In addition, the Bishop has appointed two new Foundation Directors: Paul Hardy and Richard Turpin who bring significant legal and premises/construction expertise respectively to the Board.

In September, parents at our two Catholic primary academies were invited to nominate potential parent directors.  We received a nomination for Julie McLeod who has duly been appointed as a Parent Director for the next four years.

More information about all our directors can be found on the "Board of Directors" page on this website.

On the 16th April 2018, Blackpool & Lancashire Local Authorities will inform parents of the primary school their child has been allocated to.  Not all parents will necessarily receive their first choice of school.  For September 2018, the full allocation of 30 pupil places has been made at Christ the King & St. Cuthbert’s Catholic Academies.  If your child has not been allocated a place at Christ the King or St. Cuthbert’s and you would like to try to secure a place for them please follow the process below.  We would strongly advise you not to reject the place at the school your child has been allocated until you hear the outcome of the Appeals process.

St Cuthbert's Catholic Academy
Following the inspection of St. Cuthbert’s Catholic Academy, in July 2017, the inspectors judged the academy to be good overall and also good in every category - Effectiveness of leadership and management, Quality of teaching, learning and assessment, Pupils’ personal development, behaviour and welfare, Outcomes for pupils and its Early years provision.

In a letter sent to St. Cuthbert’s the lead inspector wrote: “You have high aspirations for your pupils and work rigorously and relentlessly to make sure you achieve the high standards you set for yourself and others.” It added: “At the heart of all your work is your drive and determination to ensure that pupils have better life choices.”

The Trust is delighted that the hard work and dedication of the staff team and the support of parents has been recognised; the education the children now receive is of the highest quality and improving further.  To move from an inadequate to good grading in four years is a great achievement.
