We currently have vacancies for a parent governor for St Mary’s and for both the primaries, which we would like to fill as soon as possible. Parent governors are elected by and from the parents of children currently attending our schools. They serve a four-year term of office and bring a very important and valued perspective to the work of the governing body.
The governing body has a vital role to play in making sure every child receives the best possible education. No special qualifications are needed and the most important thing is to have a keen interest in the school and be prepared to play an active part in the governing body’s work. Training is available for all governors and is free of charge.
Most importantly, we seek a parent governor who has a passion for our schools and is keen to work in a supportive but challenging way with the Senior Leadership of the school, to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality education for children of families in our local community.
If you are interested in becoming a governor and wish to discuss this, please complete the relevant nomination form below (self-nomination is acceptable), and return by email to parentgovernorSMCA@bebcmat.co.uk for St Mary’s or firstname.lastname@example.org for the primaries or to the school’s reception by 12.00 noon on Friday 2nd July 2021.
If there are more nominations than vacancies than an election may be held and if so, you will be sent a voting paper.
If you are interested in this opportunity, we would love to hear from you!
